Most stylist women at Paris Fashion week!

Dita von Teese must be one of the most elegant women in the planet.  The fact that she does not use any stylist and chooses all her outfits, shows what a chic and elegant woman she is....case in point? Paris Fashion week, on her way to Eliee Saab' show.

Also Alexa Chung at the Valentino show, demonstrated why she is fast becoming a fashion icon.
Also loving both, Julie Ferries and Yasmine Tordjamn, they are both inspirational.

Amanda Grogan, shining new star? I think so.

My purpose of this blog is not to review the well established designers such as Armani or Ralph Laurent but to share my love of fashion as well as discover new designers that bring something new to the world of fashion.  Amanda Grogan is that person.  She entered into the prestigious Mittel Moda Awards competion held in Italy every year and won hands down with her designs.

They collection is called Cut, Sealed and Cauterized is inspired by the work of artist Barry Le Va, who had created work using the concept of a crime scene installation, so it is not surpise that the collection have a very futuristic look to all the dresses and pieces shown in the catwalk, in a way it reminds me of the very first collection that the late Alexander McQueen put on shown which Isabella Bow bought in its entirety; f she was alive, I think Amanda's first collection would have the very same fate, it has the fashion world buzzing with delight and even Vogue Italy has featured her designs.  Here is to a great future Amanda!

Clear bra straps.....why?

Today I was browsing through some friend's pictures and noticed that one of the friends tends to wear clear strap bras with her strapless dresses/tops and got me thinking about whether underwear should be shown or not.  Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City had her underwear on show and of course the divine Dolce & Gabbana have made a career of underwear shown as outerwear or at least to peep through the clothes.

Beautiful underwear peeping through the clothes, can look flirty, sexy, cute if it is done well, with emphasis on beautiful and well fitted underwear.  But I will never understand the need to wear clear straps underwear, if you don't want to show, invest in a good bra that will do the job....otherwise, go hell for leather and put it on show, but this half way, is a no no no.

Belle & Bunty's homage to Vionnet

I recently discovered this new UK label while visiting one of my favorite boutiques in Dublin at the beginning of the summer and totally fell in love with their entire collection.  Belle & Bunty are a design duo from London that created this label back in 2003.  The label has grown incredibly despite the recent recession.  The pieces are incredibly crafted focusing primarily on printing fabrics, very feminine, flattering, and classic pieces that you will always want to wear again and again.

The jewel in the collection is the Willow Maxi Dress.  It is so incredibly beautiful and the closest thing that any girls will come to Haute Couture as it has to be ordered and it is made up to your own specifications.  Willow is an homage to Vionnet's style on the cut and the style.  This is the kind of dress you put on and will always make you feel like a princess.....definitely an investment piece on any self proclaimed style queen.
