Most women dream of their wedding day wearing a beautiful white wedding dress. But some women do not like wearing white, or it is their second nuptials, or admire a more individual style than the usual run of the mill wedding dresses.
I have developed a love for all things vintage over the past 2 years and I love the idea of either wearing a vintage dress or vintage inspire. Also I love the old Hollywood glamour.
When I saw this picture of Drew Barrymore wearing an embellished nude Alberta Ferrett dress together with netted birdcage veil and sequins flower in her hair, I thought she epitomize that old Hollywood glamour and vintage feel I am taking about. Even the make-up & hair is just perfect for the overall look. I feel truly inspired.

Who wore it best? Helen Boham Carter v Freida Pinto
Since Helen Boham Carter was nominated for a Golden Globes for her performance in The King's Speech, everyone has been talking about her fashion sense. While most critics were quickly to dismiss her choice for the Golden Globes, there were a few fashion experts that were ready to dish her choice for the SAG awards, no matter who dressed her or what her choice was going to be.
She choose a dress by Marc Jacobs that was also wore by Freida Pinto back at the beggining of October 2010. While Freida's choice was hail as a one of the best dress that month, Helen was considered one of the worse dress at the SAG Awards, fair? Helen is more curvy that Freida but I still wonder who wore it best, Freda or Helen? I think both wore it just as beautifully.

Sofia's Choice
The most elegant women wear clothes with such confidence that you notice the woman first and then you notice the dress. Looking at Sofia Coppola at the Somewhere preview and reception in Tokyo last week, you cannot do anything but admire the clean lines of her blue Louis Vuitton top and skirt tied with a thin leather belt marking her natural waist. She pair the look with black pair of wedge shoes and a clutch bag with brass clasp. It reads simplicity in the most elegant way.

Dior Couture S/S 2011
Parish Fashion Week was over last week and all designers showed the trends for the spring/summer season ahead. Christian Dior put an incredible show yet again. It was going back to the roots of Mr Dior himself with looks that he would have been proud, the "New Look" with a twist. It fell refreshing and new again, incredibly feminine clothes. Skirts were either full or pencil. Fabrics on degrade using strong colors and pastels. Looking at the collection, I kept thinking of the movie High Society, Grace Kelly would have been proud to wear every single piece.
Couture clothes are inspirational and aspirational (most of us will never own a piece of couture),but it is fun to look at the shows and dream of owning one of these pieces of art.

Grey has been the new black for the past few seasons....
I love the colour grey, it is such a great 'neutral' colour and can be wore on it's on with other shades of grays or with pair with other colour/s. I am loving Princess Letizia of Spain take on this trend. The sequins on the cardigan add interest while the beige belt & handbag breaks the colour in a very subtle way.
A winning look & inspiration on how to wear grey and sequins for a daytime look.

The power of the red carpet - Mila Kunis
For a very long time I could not understand why actresses would go to the lengths they go to dress themselves for red carpet appearances. It seemed to me that if you were in a film and your performance was noticeable, surely that it is all that is needed. But now I realized how wrong I was. There are actresses that we like their performance but once we leave the movie theater, we forget their names and only remember the main character/s. But after watching then walk through the red carpet wearing something unforgettable, you quickly remember their names.
After the Golden Globes if anyone didn't know who Mila Kunis was, they definitely know now. She stepped into the red carpet on Sunday night in a beautiful Vera Wang one shoulder dress that was stunning. While other dresses were talked about as best or worse (Michelle Williams and Angelina Jolie), every fashion critic and enthusiast agreed that she was one of the top 5 best dress ladies on the night. She looked like a goddess that she is, wore the dress with such ease and elegance that was hard to ignore.
She is fast becoming one of the fashion starlets to watch out for on any red carpet. Here are my favorite looks from Mila on recent carpet moments.

Golden Globes, my pick of best dress
So the award season is truly underway. The Golden Globes is after the Oscars, the second most important red carpet in terms of fashion. And while the Oscars is always the more formal of the two, the Golden Globes always give more room for unusual, quirky or "casual" dresses. I was surprised how low key most of the dresses looked on the red carpet, colour block, minimalist, long hems were the trend, all of them were quite understated but nonetheless incredibly beautiful. Is this a preview of what the Oscars are going to be or is Hollywood keeping a card up their sleeves in terms of fashion?
Here are my pick of the best dress at the Golden Globes.
